Thank you to our local community for your continued support in fueling our passion. We truly could not do what we do and continue to grow our amazing programs without you! Sisters in Service partners with many businesses and organizations in the 757 to make an impact on the young ladies we take under our wing. Most recently, we received the greatest gift of all! We are so excited to share that SIS Sisters in Service Inc. has been awarded the Portsmouth United Safer Communities Grant from the Portsmouth Police Department! This grant is a huge blessing and will help us continue to grow and serve even more girls right here in Portsmouth.
Thanks to this funding, SIS can continue providing safe, supportive spaces where girls feel seen, heard, and empowered. This spring, we’ve expanded our Girl Takes on the World mentoring program into Waters and Cradock Middle Schools. We are now offering weekly after-school sessions focused on leadership, life skills, and relationship building at two Portsmouth Public Schools sites.
We are beyond grateful to the Portsmouth Police Department for believing in our mission and investing in prevention-based programs that uplift and strengthen our community. Our girls deserve safe communities and the tools to thrive, and this support makes that possible.
From the entire SIS team—thank you for your support. We’re just getting started, and we can’t wait to show you what’s next.
